For example, dividing 10 by 2 is basically —

1. 10-2=8
2. 8-2=6
3. 6-2=4
4. 4-2=2
5. 2-2=0

However, if you repeat the same process using zero, it doesn’t make sense to the calculator and it becomes an infinite loop:

1. 20-0=20
2. 20-0=20
3. 20-0=20
4. 20-0=20
5. 20-0=20
6. 20-0=20 and so on….
